Thanksgiving 2026: Family Coloring Party

Twelve-year-old Anne Hoey left County Mayo, Ireland, with a single brass candlestick, to travel to New Orleans, Louisiana, to live with her Aunt Anne and her Anne’s husband John Edwards. Fate had a different plan.  Anne’s trip halted in New York City at South Street Port, where she was robbed after disembarking from the Emma Prescott in August of 1847.

Anne Hoey's choice to find employment and make her life in New York gave roots to an enduring family tree.

We've had many wonderful reunions, but of course, we can’t always be together.

Selfishly, this year, I would really like it if we were together, so....

I decided to make a shared coloring book for us. I propose we sit together while apart and color!  Click below....

I request the following of all of you:

  1. Flip through our family coloring book and find some projects.
  2. Pick up a nice set of colored pencils (suggestion from Wire Cutter)
  3. When you are together this Thanksgiving year, color and remember our stories.
  4. TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR COLORING PARTY!
  5. Email photos to me, and I will build us a 2026 Anne Hoey Family Thanksgiving post!
