As I moved into the pre retirement phase of my life three things happened (1) my career became just a job (2) menopause (3) dad died. It was a lot all at once; I was depressed.
I asked Tom if we could establish a policy of “something to look forward to” each quarter. He agreed. This quarter’s “look forward to” was a weekend at our favorite spot in Siesta Key Florida - sadly Helena confused things. Tom pivoted like a superstar and we went to The Reefs
As we approached the island I remember how much Dad loved this vacation; he really relaxed there (Sam relaxed was a fun sight)
And Sam was happy we were in a Bermuda
Our cab driver - maître d at the Belmont - when we used to stay there! We reminisced about Bermuda in the 1980 and sang Talbot Brothers songs the entire ride to The Reefs
Sunday night acoustic set at our bar - closed with a Talbot song — no not the standard/ expected song but instead FRECKLES —- Sam's favorite!!
